A Philosophical Approach

A Philosophical Approach to the Topic: Environmental Protection in Arid Regions

How can environmental protection be planned when the ground consists entirely of sand?

This question meets with little support in our society, as deserts are often perceived as ecologically impoverished ecosystems. Integrating ecological processes would be futile, since the hostile environmental conditions would thwart all efforts. At least, that is the general perception. Practical implementation would therefore only be possible if global climate change were to alter this state of affairs.

And yet we are here today to initiate a shift in thinking and a reassessment of our existing knowledge. Deserts are often seen as ecologically stagnant. At the same time, they encompass vast areas that have the potential to create new habitats and benefit the entire world. All the more reason to take a closer look.

A life-sustaining environment is the foundation of our entire existence and plays a decisive role in defining its value. Protecting it is therefore a task of fundamental importance. Yet reality has its dark side: Our environment is gradually dwindling, and we, as the most highly developed life form, seem powerless to do anything but watch this process unfold. In a sense, this assertion may be true. But our civilization is destined for greatness and always follows the path of knowledge. Let us therefore turn away from the old way of thinking and choose the future.

Starting today, our entire way of life is changing. Use the right knowledge to decide which direction to take! Terra United stands for an ecologically stable path that opens up new perspectives and reimagines the potential of arid regions as habitats.
