Environmental Understanding

Let’s take the time to look at our world and think about the future development of our planet. This thought process is important because all the decisions we make today, whether right or wrong, always have an impact on the immediate future.

Today, it is becoming apparent that the greatest threat to all life is accelerated change, which is leading to major changes in the environment. Life as we know it today undergoes an important process of development and adaptation in order to evolve in its own way. If these natural processes are restricted, the population fades and the species disappears from the face of the earth. Regardless of whether the change is caused by active or passive structures, in the end everything revolves around the preservation of life.

Our society is the only species on the planet that understands life and wants to actively preserve it. Environmental protection is one facet of this; you could also say it is a behavior that contributes to the preservation of life.

However, in order to actively protect the environment in a forward-looking way, a basic understanding of this topic is required. The environment is currently changing at a rapid pace. Where yesterday forests and untouched nature dominated, today it is cities with their anthropogenic influence that are shaping the image of the environment. If the way of thinking does not change through new innovative proposals, there will be no ecological tomorrow as it is given in nature.

If we take a closer look at our society today, we can see a change in behavior compared to previous generations. Civilization is adapting to the changed conditions and at the same time encapsulating itself through technological processes. This leads to a loss of understanding of nature and the original environment. The result is that our historically evolved knowledge of the environment is obscured by technological progress. Due to the generational change, the old knowledge is forgotten because we no longer really live the interaction with nature. As a result, our understanding slowly dies out over time and we are denied innovative solutions for environmental protection.

With this behavior, we create an independent habitat that nature cannot follow. As a result, the processes of our society are changing in leaps and bounds and in ever shorter periods of time, so that attempts by nature to adapt are not showing any significant success. Due to the increased influence of social action and independence from natural processes, an alienation from nature is emerging today. This can be seen in the environment, where natural spaces are disappearing.

Today, we must ask ourselves how we can grow together with nature in order to help the environment grow together and thus preserve our habitat.
